The iSAGE project sponsored 2 speakers at the 2016 International Conference on Goats; Jean-Marc Gautier and Carol Delaney. Their topic covered the Use of Precision Livestock Farming for Dairy Goats in France and Practical Measures to Increase Productivity for Goat Dairy Farms. Both presentations were very well received with lots of questions and follow up discussions at the coffee break. As the iSAGE project addresses both topics in its scope and directives, both the speakers were happy to appear at the iSAGE stand together with iSAGE Turkey partners during the breaks and discuss correlation with other international projects.
iSAGE also sponsored a round-table session on branding and marketing novel goat products where the Turkish “Angora” breed took the limelight with goat producers as a value added fibre to supplement farm income.
Sinan Ogun from project industry partner, Red Rock, presented at the opening session outlining iSAGE and its potential future impact to the EU sheep and goat industries and particularly Turkey’s involvement.
Following the conference, iSAGE partner, Red Rock hosted a number of attendees from France and the USA goat dairy industry representatives to a small ruminant dairy workshop on adding value to improve farm economic sustainability. The visit made it to Turkish media (newspapers and TV).
